Welcome to Lima, Peru

Your adventure through Peru kicks off in Lima today. Arrive at your convenience, and upon landing at Jorge Chávez International Airport, a friendly guide will greet you and take you to your hotel.

Lima, the “City of Kings,” founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535, is a city steeped in history, culture, and cuisine. The city’s heart is its colonial centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where grand plazas, historic churches, and stately buildings echo its past.

The city also boasts impressive museums filled with priceless pre-Columbian artifacts, or you can explore the San Francisco Church and its famous catacombs. Lima has earned global recognition for its culinary scene.

Day 2 Peru

Lima Main Square – Historic Centre, Peru

Half-Day Lima City Tour & Peruvian Gastronomy Walking Experience

This morning, we will begin with a pick-up from your hotel for a city tour, starting with a view of Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial site of the ancient Lima culture. From here, we will journey through the districts of San Isidro, Lince, and the historic centre of Lima, passing landmarks such as the Justice Palace, Lima Art Museum, and Plaza San Martin. The tour continues with a walk through Lima’s main plaza to explore the Cathedral, Government Palace, and Archbishop’s Palace. You’ll also visit the Convent of San Francisco, one of Lima’s most significant religious sites.

In the afternoon, you’ll indulge in a gastronomic adventure through Barranco, a picturesque neighbourhood. On this tour, you will sample around 14 traditional Peruvian dishes and learn about the culinary traditions that make Peru a gastronomic destination. After the tour, you’ll return to your hotel.

From there, embark on a boat journey to the Ballestas Islands, often referred to as the “Galápagos of Peru.” Along the way, admire the Candelabro Geoglyph, a mysterious figure carved into the coastal dunes. Upon reaching the islands, enjoy seeing sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and a variety of seabirds in their natural habitat.

Next, travel to Ica and visit a famous winery to learn about Peru’s pisco production and taste the iconic drink. Then head to the Huacachina Oasis, a stunning desert lagoon surrounded by towering dunes. Experience an adrenaline-pumping dune buggy ride followed by sandboarding down the golden dunes. Later, you will return to Lima.

Day 4 Peru

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to the beautiful city of Cusco. Once there, you will be welcomed and transferred to the Sacred Valley. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Day 5 Peru

Maras Salt Mines – Sacred Valley, Peru

Full-Day Maras Salt Mines, Moray Terraces & Ollantaytambo Tour

After a hearty breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up for a full day exploring the Sacred Valley. Visit the ancient site of Moray, where circular terraces were designed to create microclimates for different crops. Then, head to Maras to marvel at the panoramic view of the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive site where over 3000 salt wells are operated by local families. You will also learn about the traditional methods of salt extraction. Afterward, enjoy a delicious traditional Andean lunch made from locally sourced ingredients.

Next, continue your journey to Ollantaytambo, one of the valley’s most significant archaeological sites. Here, you’ll explore the Temple of the Sun, the Inca terraces, and the ancient water channels. At the end of the day, return to your hotel for a restful evening.

Day 6 Peru

Machu Picchu Citadel – Inca Wonder, Peru

Full-Day Machu Picchu Tour & Transfer to Cusco

Start your day with an early breakfast in the Sacred Valley before heading to the Ollantaytambo train station to board a train to Aguas Calientes, the town nearest to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will board a bus for a 25-minute ride up to the Machu Picchu citadel, where a local guide will take you through the breathtaking ruins, including the Sun Temple, the Sun Stone, and the Three Windows room.

After exploring the citadel, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes for some free time to explore, enjoy lunch, or shop for souvenirs before returning to Ollantaytambo. From there, you will be transferred back to Cusco.

Day 7 Peru

This day begins with a visit to the San Pedro Market, where you will have the opportunity to see local produce and shop for souvenirs. Your next stop is the Qoricancha, or Temple of the Sun, which was one of the most important religious sites in the Inca Empire. Following this, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, a massive ceremonial complex with enormous stones, and Qenqo, an ancient site with mysterious carvings.

Your last stop is the Sulca Textile Museum, where you will see demonstrations of traditional fabric-making techniques that have been passed down through generations. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

In the early hours of the morning, you’ll be transferred from your hotel to the airport for a flight to the stunning Uyuni Salt Flats. Upon arrival, we’ll head to the city center to begin exploring this remarkable natural wonder.
Your adventure starts with a visit to the Train Cemetery, just outside Uyuni, followed by a stop at Colchani, where you’ll find a market selling salt-based crafts and handmade wool products. You’ll also witness the traditional methods used to process salt on-site.
Next, you’ll explore the Salt Mounds, natural springs, the Dakar Rally monument, and the World Flags Plaza. Continue your journey to the first-ever Salt Hotel, now a museum and restaurant, where lunch will be served. If the weather is cold, a charming picnic lunch will be arranged on the salt flats.
In the afternoon, visit Incahuasi Island, home to giant cacti and breathtaking views of the salt flats. End your day with an unforgettable stargazing experience, as the vast expanse of the Uyuni Salt Flats provides an extraordinary view of the night sky, creating an ethereal atmosphere.

Here, you’ll see a train that was famously robbed by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1908. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to observe local wildlife and the unique fauna of the high-altitude region.

Then, continue your journey to Tomave, where you’ll find a beautiful colonial church and traditional architecture. Afterward, relax in the natural hot springs, with water temperatures around 35°C. Explore stunning lagoons, such as Laguna Verde Warmy Kasilla and Laguna Celeste Orqo Kasilla, both located at over 4,800 meters above sea level.

Lunch will be served along the way, and after completing the tour, you’ll return to Uyuni to spend the night.
